Have you heard the term “You’re on the right path?” We probably all have, right? But really, yall, what does that mean? How do I know if I am on the right path or the wrong path? You had probably asked yourself this question when you began feeling uncertain about what you are doing or even your next. When progression is slow, or the results are below your expectations, we can find ourselves circling back to this question, “Am I on the right path.”
On the other hand, when you do something that makes you feel alive and connected to your purpose, we think, “I am on my path now!” We live for these moments when we feel like we’re doing exactly what we were meant to do. Even if no money is involved, what matters is that what we’re doing feels authentic; it feels true; it feels like real impact.
This is why crafting a vision statement that speaks to your truth should be the first thing you do. It gives direction to everything else. Ultimately because your vision is your organization’s foundation. I am encouraging you, the listener, to curate an open-minded vision. This vision should be specific yet open to the overall goal of what the organization is striving to achieve. And that vision should be so well crafted that it remains secure; no matter if the marketplace changes, and it will. No matter if the economy changes, because it will shift, and regardless of technology evolving, because it is, your vision can whether the wheater.
Looking back, I have noticed that in each of these stages, a significant shift occurred in our lives that directed us to revisit the vision statement. And here we are today recounting the history behind “Led From The Heart.” A vision that initially started with an entirely different goal gradually morphed into the very one we live and breathe.
